Who we are
DraftDesk is run by Josh Brosnan in the UK. For any question about your data, email support@draftdesk.live.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you join the DraftDesk email list. We use it only to email you about DraftDesk: launches, new features and important changes.
- Your drafts, settings and targets. These are saved in your own browser on your own device. They are not sent to us, and we can't see them.
- Your Season Desk leagues and watchlist: league settings, team names, rosters, your watchlist and any projections you import. These are also saved only in your own browser. We don't have accounts yet, so we don't keep any of it. A backup code from Share / back up contains that league's details and your watchlist; it stays wherever you put it.
- Projection spreadsheets you import into Season Desk or the draft boards are read on your own device. The file is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Roster screenshots you add to Season Desk are read on your own device by open-source text recognition (Tesseract), which the page downloads from draftdesk.live. The images are never uploaded to us or anyone else, and they're discarded when you leave the page.
- Sleeper league ID or username. If you load a league from Sleeper, your browser asks Sleeper's public data service (api.sleeper.app) for that league's rosters and team names directly (and, if you type your Sleeper username, for the list of your leagues; the username and your Sleeper user number are kept in your browser only, to fill the box next time and to find which team in each league is yours). We don't receive the ID or the rosters, and Sleeper's own privacy policy covers that request. The league ID (Sleeper, ESPN or Fantrax) is saved with that league in your browser, so Season Desk can load the rosters and schedule again: when you tap Refresh rosters, and by itself while Season Desk is open (every 15 to 30 minutes at most, and once after the overnight waiver run).
- ESPN league ID. If you load a league from ESPN, Season Desk asks ESPN for it through our small server at api.draftdesk.live, which passes the league straight back to your browser and keeps nothing. For a private league you also enter two codes from your ESPN login (espn_s2 and SWID). They go to ESPN through our server for each request only, and our server never saves them. Season Desk doesn't save them either, unless you tick Remember these codes: then they're kept in your browser only (never in backup codes, never sent anywhere but ESPN through our server), so the rosters can refresh by themselves. Deleting the league, or unticking the box and loading the league again, removes them. Treat them like a password and don't share them with anyone else.
- Fantrax league. If you load a league from Fantrax, Season Desk asks Fantrax for that league's settings, rosters, player names, standings, matchups and recent moves through our small server at api.draftdesk.live, which passes them straight back to your browser and keeps nothing. Fantrax only shares leagues that are public.
- Leagues and drafts on the draft boards. Loading a league or a Sleeper mock draft on the snake or auction board works the same way: Sleeper is asked by your browser directly, ESPN and Fantrax through our small server, which keeps nothing. While Follow the picks live is ticked, the board asks again every few seconds during the draft. The link is kept in your browser for 30 days so the board can reload it. Open my team in Season Desk passes your drafted teams to Season Desk inside your own browser; nothing is sent to us.
- Invite and device links. Share / back up can make a link to a league: an invite link for the others in your league (without your team, projection edits or watchlist) or a link to open it on your other device. The league is packed into the part of the link after the # sign, which browsers never send to any server, ours included. Anyone you send the link to can see the league's teams and rosters, so share it only with people you'd show your league to.
- Send to DraftDesk (ESPN). If you use the Send to DraftDesk bookmark on your ESPN league page, it runs on ESPN's page in your browser: ESPN reads your league with your own ESPN sign-in, and the bookmark opens Season Desk with the rosters, records, matchups, recent moves and your pending claims and trade offers in the part of the web address after the # sign, which browsers never send to any server. We don't receive the league, and the bookmark never reads or sends your ESPN password or your espn_s2 sign-in code. It looks at your ESPN member number (the SWID code) on ESPN's page only to see which team in the league is yours; that number stays on ESPN's page and isn't sent to Season Desk or anywhere else. Season Desk removes that part from the address as soon as it has read it.
- Error reports. If something in Season Desk breaks, the page sends our server a short technical report: the error message, where in the code it happened, the Season Desk version, which tab was open and your browser type (for example "Safari on iPhone"). It contains nothing about your leagues, rosters or watchlist, and we keep it for 30 days to fix the problem.
Season Desk also downloads the latest NBA stats and the DraftDesk team page from api.draftdesk.live, and Season Desk and both draft boards download the latest player news and injury list from there. Those downloads send nothing about you or your leagues.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't track you across sites or identify you. We don't use advertising cookies, we don't sell or share your data, and we don't collect payment details.
Where it's stored
Sign-ups are collected and stored by Brevo, our form provider and email service, which also sends the emails to the list. When you sign up, Brevo emails you a link to confirm your address, and you're only added to the list once you click it. The site and our server at api.draftdesk.live are hosted by Cloudflare.
Why we can use it
We email you because you asked us to by signing up (your consent). You can withdraw it at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your email at any time, or unsubscribe from any email we send. Email support@draftdesk.live and we'll deal with it within a month, usually much sooner. To delete your saved drafts and leagues, clear this site's data in your browser, use Delete history on either board, or use Delete this league in Season Desk.
If you have any concerns about how your data is handled, please get in touch and we'll do our best to put it right. You also have the right to contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
How long we keep it
We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Error reports are deleted after 30 days.
